What a private charter is
You book the whole boat, not seats. No other guests come along. Many operators let you shape the route, the start time, the food and the activities.
Good reasons to go private
- Families: set your own pace and swim stops.
- Couples: a sunset sail for two, or a proposal on the water.
- Friend groups and wedding parties: one boat for everyone.
- Birthdays and corporate days: some operators offer custom menus and decorations. Ask what they can do.
- Divers and snorkelers: a private dive boat goes where your group wants, within the rules.
Questions to ask
- How many guests can the boat take?
- Where exactly do we board, and how do we get there?
- What's included: food, drinks, snorkel gear, transport?
- Is the price per boat, and does it include tax?
- What happens if the weather turns? Who decides, and can we move the date?
- What's the cancellation policy?
